On Sunday, October 13th, Tool provided a triumphant conclusion to Sacramento's Aftershock festival, playing an epic 11-song set that spanned from their 1992 debut EP, Opiate, to their most recent offering, August's Fear Inoculum, the group's first album in 13 years. The rapturous performance served as the kickoff of the band's ongoing North American headlining tour, featuring U.K. industrial-metal/post-punk pioneers Killing Joke opening the show on all successive dates. It also saw Tool play two new songs live for the first time: "Pneuma" and Fear Inoculum's Active Rock chart–topping title track. Revolver Creative Director Jimmy Hubbard was there to catch all the prog-metal convolutions and synapse-frying laser lights. See some of his standout photographs, as well as the full set list and Tool's upcoming itinerary, below.
